O.K. after repeatedly trying to introduce Patches to Porky and Beans and failing I decided to expand the cage and divide it so at least he would have contact with the other two but safely behind a grid wall. (He was on a second level before, with no contact with the other two). Well, now the two that get along are scuffling. Not fighting, but lots of mounting and chasing. Meanwile, Patches is totally unfased by the whole thing and just watches from the other side. Anyone have any insight?

that's what my bonded males are doing now that I tried to introduce a new male. Does anyone know why? Oscar and Henry are having little tiffs left and right!

Well, they seem to have all calmed down. I had to put plexiglass between them because Beans was trying to squeeze through the grids. I was afraid he was going to get his head stuck! Anyway, it is so cute to see one start popcorning and then then the other two will join in :) I guess good fences really do make good neighbors!

Hehe! I think it's just a dominance issue, and should go away once they have some time to settle down. =) Maybe you can try again after they are in this setup for a while (getting to know each other through the divider). Good luck!

Yeah! At least now they can still see eachother, but it would be nice if they could interact through the grids too.

Yes, it would, but you're doing a great job! Keep it up.

Hey, at least Beans was just getting to the other pigs. When my youngest pig was new I caught him with his head and one shoulder through the grid and IN the dogs mouth! Luckily he was just slobbered over and not bitten, or worse eaten! It's a relief that he's too big to do that now.

That's funny! Good thing you have a good natured dog. My toy poodle likes to lick their ears. And when we let Porky out he runs straight to the dog for his "ear cleaning"!

That's too funny! My 130# black lab thinks the piggies are his "puppies" and will sit and watch them run their cage and likes to lay on the floor where they are during floor time. They love to jump over his tail and pull on the hair!

My "yellow" (really reddish) lab loves them, too! It was love at first sight. Whenever I have them out in their cozies and I am watching TV, he comes over and smells them, then whaps his tail and wiggles all over! It's really cute. I haven't put them in the same room as each other during floor time yet, though I have been thinking about it. I'll watch them, of course! I just think it's sooo funny! =)
