Hi there!

I'm trying to get a C&C cage for my 4 girls.
What size is the minimum for 4 piggies?
And what size would you recommend?
Also, does the shape of the cage matter? A normal shape or an L shape?

Thanks so much in advance! :)

Click on the Main tab at the top of the page for recommended cage sizes. Bigger is always better -- those are minimums. And for sows, shape doesn't really matter.

So 2x6 is the minimum, that should definitely fit in my room. I'll try to make it as large as possible.
But if I would make it an L shape, how large should that be?

Any L shape you want. Doesn't matter with sows. The only thing you shouldn't do is make a long, narrow space that's only one grid wide. Too much chance of squabbling when they run into each other.

Because you are going with a big cage, grids can get very expensive, especially because they are hard to come by in the Netherlands.
You could try this run
https://t.zooplus.nl/shop/knaagdieren_kleinedieren/konijnenhok/metaal/6_hoekig/284826
I used it for years. You can buy a couple and they are easy to connect.

For the coroplast have a look online for 'kanaalplaat'. There are some cheap(ish) companies, but stores like Praxis sell it too.

There is a site that sells proper c&c cages (caviadraadkubus.nl) but what you are planning will run you over €100. You can probably get it much cheaper if you shop around a bit.
(my cage 140x95cm only cost me around €40-50, but I had a wholesaler of coroplast nearby and they even cut the coroplast for me)

Wow, thanks for the great ideas!
I already ordered grids online, not very expensive, but your idea would have been a bit cheaper.
But the coroplast, that's something to check, thanks so much!
