Yesterday Bubble guine started acting weird, like he doesn't eat all of the food and veggies anymore. He also lies down alot. So I am wondering what to do, do i go to the vet or see what happens?

It is weird because i gave him a bowl of veggies, he ate some then went down and lied down for a while and is now eating the veggies again. Normally he would eat them all at once.

I would take him to the vet, or atleast call the vet.

Go to the vet. Guinea pigs can go downhill fast if they are not treated in a timely manner.

How's your pigs doing now? Any changes in his behaviour?

Yes, take him to the vet today. If you 'wait and see', even for 1 day, you might end up with a dead pig. Also, weigh him several times a day to make sure he's not losing weight. A digital postal scale found at an office supply store is accurate. If he's eating less than usual and losing weight, you'll need to start handfeeding him with Critical Care. Be sure you go to a knowledgeable vet. Many vets have some knowledge about guinea pigs and may seem competent, but mess things up. Guinealynx is a good source of information you can use to double-check your vet's diagnosis.

I agree with taking him to the vet. He sounds as if he isn't wanting to eat much and has lethargy.

Well he ate all of his veggies i have noticed from coming back home. But he just doesn't eat all of his food. Unfortuneitly my parents won't take my somewhere to get the oxbow yet but I will definetly get it in the next week. So could he just be gettin sick of the food?

Critterlover: I went to Guinealynx and they said an eilimination of urine. But he has gone to the bathroom because i cleaned the cage then put him back in a clean cage. I just cheacked at 6:36 4 hours after changing cage and he did urinenate

I dont see anything wrong here. Why would you be running to the vet? Mine eat their veggies then go to their hidey house and sleep and then come back for more. Sometimes they dont, sometimes they eat their veggies all at once. I dont see any illness here. I would wait at least 24 hours for any kind of a symptom.

It depends on the pigs. If it's fairly common for them to not wolf down their food then don't worry, but if they always do then a change in the usual is something to be concerned about.

I do not think i will run rite to the vet i will just let him be and he wasn't always mine so my mom said maybe now he knows food is always there and doesn't have to worry about starving. But that is only my mom. But thanks pennick and ooms jennyoo i will just forgot about the whole vet thing until i feel he is very sick.

Just keep a close eye on him. If hes eating, drinking water and seems to be acting in the usual guinea pig way then probably everything is okay. Dont forget the whole vet thing until he is very sick, that is not what I mean. If you see something really strange, not eating, water eyes, sneezing alot, something that you can really pinpoint to an illness then go immediately to a vet, don't wait.

What I saw was possible lethargy.

As your pig's owner, you will notice a subtle change in his behaviour before your pig gets noticeably ill. An observant owner will notice these things. Unless you a particuarly nervous person or new owner, I think it is useful to go with your instinct.

It's very hard to tell whether a pig is sick or not over the internet. Weighing a 'suspect' pig several times a day can be very useful to help you decide whether or not to go to the vet. My seemingly healthy pig lost 1 oz the day before he developed pneumonia.
