My dog Josie is very weird about the guinea pigs hay. If a piece is outside the cage, she will go over and eat it. Should I be concerned about this? Will it hurt my dog? The guinea pigs couldn't care less that she goes over to eat it.

My dog did this and ate all the pellets from piggy food dishes when I would have them out of the cage for 4 1/2 years. They just supplemented his diet I guess. He died of old age on August 7th. Its weird having hay and pellets on the floor :/

My lab eats hay, poo, pellets, hay, and veggies. Labs are knows for their steel stomachs, but Hershey is fine and dandy.

No, definitely don't worry unless it's making her sick. My two dogs looove to forage hay (peed/pood on or not) and chin/pig/rabbit poo when I dump it in when I change their cages and don't get sick at all and they've done it for years. They also love pellets, but I think that's because of the touch of molasses in KM's formula.

If it's fresh, new, clean hay that's just fallen from the cage, it's basically the same as eating grass. Mine like hay so much I've started calling it grass jerky, actually. :)
