i brought my gp back from the vet today, and they said that they dont know if the gp is having mites or it's an allergy. they said they just going to let it take the ivermectin 1% inj first, and continue for 3 weeks to see how it goes. does any1 knows if i can just buy the medicine alone in the future (if my gp has mites again) and treat them myself? i mean, i just want a less expense spending. and by the way, what kind of vet is this? she doesnt know for sure if he has an allergy or mites????????

Is your vet an exotic vet or is she one that treats dogs, cats etc. She doesn't sound that experienced with guinea pigs.

Ya... when she said "not sure" make me feel not confidence on her already.

she also a vet in dogs, cats, and other animal. however, when i got there at the hospital, all i saw were dogs and several cats being brought to there... i was like the only one who brought in gps. By the way, she told me that my gp wouldnt get itchy anymore because of the medicine, but i still seeing my gp scratching... what in the world?

Your gp won't stop scratching straight away! Give the medicine for a bit longer, then you're likely to see a change.
