what hay and what type of food pellets do pigs seem to love the most?

Any grass hay will do fine, such as timothy, bluegrass, orchard grass or brome hays.

(broken link removed) has some of the best hay on the planet.

Oxbow sells the Cavy Cuisine pellet, arguably the best pellet out there. (broken link removed) KM's Hayloft also sells Proform pellets, a very good alfalfa-based pellet, and worth a try as well.

I switched from Premium Diet to Oxbow Cavy Cuisine. Cost a little more but my pigs like it much better and I also ground up Vit-C tablets and sprinkle some on top. They love it.

Timothy hay is very popular but we have different brand pellets to you here in the UK.

IS alfalfa hay ok

Is alfalfa hay ok for a guinea pig that is a little over a year? Thanx

cinn&sprinnslave, alfalfa shouldn't really be fed to piggies when they're adults. They should be fed timothy or another grass hay instead. Alfalfa is only used sparingly for older piggies.
Also, I've been using Oxbow hay (see (broken link removed)) and have just switched to their Cavy Cuisine pellets, made with their timothy hay instead of alfalfa. It seems that the piggies really enjoy their hay better than all the others I've tried. Can't really say about the pellets (switching with a mixed feed this week and gradually putting them onto Cavy Cuisine), but I've heard it's great! Good luck! =)
