I am having a little trouble writing this, but I thought I would let you know that I am from now on being extra careful where my fingers are while feeding tomatoes!

My finger that wouldn't stop bleeding-

Blood drips where I ran to put the pig back and then to the bathroom!

Oh, that was...erm...lovely.

I've yet to be bitten like that. I've just been nibbled. I'm waiting for the day when one of the girls decides that I need to have a hunk of skin removed...

Well, the good news is, if it's bleeding that much there's less chance of infection - the blood serves as the body's own "anti-bacterial" rinse (I'd still rinse it well) It's the ones that DON'T bleed that you have to watch - I had a feral cat bite me three times in one hand, and it was the bite that didn't bleed that needed ER attention. :-(

Ha! Hope that heals quickly. I have only been bitten doing boar introductions and I can still see a scar from where Hawk nailed me at the inside base of my ring finger, left hand. Right in the fleshy part. So fun!

I got bit twice, I believe. My one boar was attacking the other, and I still have a scar from that. The other on my thumb and that's why I can't let any animal's mouth near my thumb anymore. Occasionally I let them lick my thumb (the pigs) but if they start to nibble I jerk away.

It hurts! And bleeds a LOT. Mine was bleeding badly for like 30 minutes then slowly continuously bleeding for 17 hours. It sucks.

I have a scar from "rescuing" Cinnamon when he thought Licorice was going to attack him. Chris was holding Licorice a bit close and Licorice started chattering so Cinnamon made a suicide leap out of my hands to escape and I caught him midair. He thought he was under attack and dug his teeth into the end of my finger. If the cut hadn't angled it would have been very deep. They have sharp little teeth.

Never been more than nipped by a guinea pig. But a hamster.... oh ouchy. My mum got bitten by my hamster as a child through the tip of her finger to her nail. I got bitten by another demon hamster and it bled for a while too. Best plan of action is to clean it, stick a plaster on it and if it bleeds through, stick another plaster on top of that one.

I hope it heals well. Watch for infection. You never know what will happen. A few months ago, we were at the park kicking the ball around with our dogs, and one of them, who always has his mouth open, ran in front of me as soon as my foot left the ground. His canine tooth ripped through my shoe, and to make a long story short, I ended up with five stitches in one of my toes. I didn't even realize it happened at first because I was screaming at my husband to check Grey (the dog), who was standing there wondering where the ball went. Figures. It actually took a couple of weeks to get rid of the infection, and I went to the ER as soon as it happened.

Nooo Slap! Please tell me you didn't... didn't.. feed her after midnight! Or water! See, guinea pigs are disguised grimlins! Then they bite you and you have the gremlin virus... watch for the infection...
