Is it anything to be concerned about? It looks like the skin is shedding but on one side and doesn't look healthy.

Fungus? Ear Mites? Vitamin deficiency?

How long have you had her and what are you feeding her?

You should probably try to find a good exotics vet near you and take her in. That doesn't look normal.

Ear mites would be my first guess but it would require more than a picture to diagnose. Better go ask a vet.

What exactly are we looking at? If that a white crusty skin on the edge of the ear? Redness behind it? If that is what I think it seems to be a fungus. Your best bet would be a vet check. Here is more info Guinea Lynx :: Fungus

I would say that it is fungus too. Find a vet!

It looks dry/ crusty and the ear's edges are frayed and chewed up. Like the skin is dying.

Even if you find lots of information online and you think you know what the problem is, you should ALWAYS see a good vet to be sure. It's best to get problems taken care of right away, because guinea pigs mask their illnesses and might be quite ill by the time you realize there is a problem.

In case you been to an exotics vet before, here is a link to help you locate one:
Guinea Lynx :: Finding a Veterinarian
It is very important to find a good vet and familiarize him/her with your guinea pigs. That way you will be prepared if and when an emergency comes up and you need help right away. Good luck.

My guinea pig has ears that look like they have had the edges chewed but theres no dryness or anthing else. Is this normal?? could he have had an infection previously? or could he have been chewed up a bit before I got him?

Charlie had that white, flaky skin on the back of his ears when he had mange mites. Ivermectin treatment (by injection - this was some years ago, when I didn't know about topical or oral so went to the vet) cleared it up. But your pigs case seems to be more severe than Charlie's was, so it may not be mites.

Some pigs ears do get chewed or torn a little around the edges, perhaps by other piggies during a fight for example, but normal ears aren't particularly smooth around the edges anyway.

I think most of my pigs have at least a few minor tears along the edge of their ears. As long as the skin is soft and smooth without hairloss it's not a problem. Hairloss can be hard to see on ears though since some pigs naturally don't have much hair on their ears.

I did look at it closely and it has small bumps, so I scratched it off like it was just dead skin. But it was weird because something similar was on its right back leg. Now it just looks it needs lotion like humans have flakey skin. It's the only GP I have and the food is pellets and some other things. I also give my GP yogurt drops that has Vitamin C.
And if this helps I do live in Tallahassee, Fl and it's pretty warm and humid outside most of the time. But my GP's cage is in the sunlight with the Central A/C always on. I clean the cage about once a week and give my GP hay every morning. So maybe somebody could give me some more tips on this situation.

Get your pigger a friend.
It's the only GP I have and the food is pellets and some other things.
Switch your pigger to a plain pellet such as Oxbow or Kleenmama.
I also give my GP yogurt drops that has Vitamin C.
Eliminate these. GP's should not have any dairy products and it should be getting a sufficient amount of Vit C from the veggies.
give my GP hay every morning.
They should have hay available 24 hours a day.
So maybe somebody could give me some more tips on this situation.
It very well could be mites or a fungus. You can treat topically with ivermectin and even if your pig doesn't have mites, it won't hurt. But you really should get your piggy to a vet. Just don't let them do a skin scraping. They hurt a lot and are not accurate unless you are fortunate enough to scrape the area where the mites actually are.
