I've noticed that a lot of people come up with different terms for the squeaks their pigs make. One of my friends claims they say "reet", while I say they "mweet" or "wheet". And if they're really determined, it's "SHRIEK!" What do yours say? :)

Pfft. My pigs are so silent at the mo. Don't even say a word, so nothing!

Well, I think the cutest sound my piggy makes is the "chut, chut, chut" when she's just walking around during floor time. It's very sweet and lets me know she's pretty content. Of course, when the vegetable bin rattles, I get a huge, continous series of "SQUEAK"!!!!

lol...awwww!
Poozy makes a purring sound when I scrath her bum, and she stretches out like a dog! It's SO cute!

Maggy (her sis) makes a super cute 'week week' when she knows she going to get some parsley. She gets really excited. And lately she's been making a new sound, kinda like the 'chut chut' sound as described above, it's super cute!

Sugar (one of my new pigs that I adopted) is so cute! She makes a week week sound, but it's like a whisper! I've never heard anything like it!

And last but never least is Spice (also a new girl) she doesn't say much of anything yet, but she's really into the parsly too! She's one of the sweetest girls I have, she's so content to sit and have her ears scratched! She closes her eyes in extacy when I scratch her right in front of the ears!! SO cute!!

My inheirited one would get real excited when he heard the crunching of lettuce, and would kinda say "whEEk, whEEk, whEEK!!!" (impfasis on the "ee"--sorry about the spelling...i forget how to spell that word :)

He would also say, "squEAK! squEAK! squEAK!" when he was peeing, because he had stones in his bladder, and it hurt.

All yours sound so cute, i wish i could hear what exactly they say! mine was rather...bored with everything--his tiny cage, life...all but his lettuce!!!

Try giving him some parsley...I bet he'll perk up then! And it's super cheap too! I just got two bushels (or whatever they're called...I'm not a farmer...) for $1.00!! And I already have to get more since the two new girls came in! lol

Ruth is very talkative. She purrs, ( I read in a book that when a guinea pig does that it means it loves you :) ) Wheeeeks, Grinds her teeth, ( That means shes mad. lol she does that when I put her in her cage after she runs around. and has short little squeaks. She is a very talkative cavy :-D

my piggies purr too..!! especially my girl.. my boy tends to "wheep" more... it's very cute when he does that.. ^^

My 2 boys make so many odd sounds. It's cute.

Jazz can't exactly wheep (as we call it) yet. You can hear the air go through his teeth, and sometimes a wheep will come out. It's cute, like a boy trying to whistle.

Milo on the other hand, has it down. As he does it very well (not to mention loudly)

Milo especially makes the sounds. They both Chortle (as we call it when they purr) and both make the little clucking squeaks, but Milo has the tendancy of doing them more often, and louder.

I've never heard the teeth grinding. Is there a site that has a recording of that?

Mine have finally started talking a little. At 7 a.m sharp my two boys will start wheeking and it sounds like 'orrreeeeeeet'. Once I put them back in the cage after cuddling they will start burbling. If I stroke Ascot near the bum he will start to pur. Ascot is always rumblestrutting to Furlong and he makes a long, low ppprrrrrrr.

they are really good alarm clocks.. :p

That is so true! They wake me up bang on time (there cage is right beside my bed).
