I've been switching the type of pellet I've been using in attempt to find what works best for my guinea and what is the best quality for the best price. So far I've haven't found that perfect pellet. So, if you could tell which brand you use. (and if the company makes different variantions, please let me know that as well.) Also, please go over the ingrediants to make sure there is no pork fat, dried egg product, or any other type of animal product. (Yes, I have seen this in guinea pig feed; for the name of the brand, private message me.)
Please consider the price of the pellet as I do have to import guinea pig feed from America and it is very expensive. The pellets sold here are not of good quality as guinea pigs are not very popular.

The best pellets are Kleenmama's timothy and alfalfa based pellets. I use Oxbow Cavy Cuisine, it's also excellent. For younger pigs, feed Oxbow's Cavy Performance (it's alfalfa based, where cuisine is timothy based). You can also use Mazuri 5664 (I believe that's the number?) if you can't get Oxbow or KM's. Those are the best pellets, and the only ones I would recommend using. Most other brands, such as Kaytee, Sunseed, Hartz, etc, contain harmful and fattening ingredients, even ingredients that can cause cancer and diseases.

We use Kleenmamma's Timothy pellets. They are available online at kmshayloft.com. I have also used Oxbow pellets and they are excellent. But our piggies prefer Kleenmamma's pellets (her hay is the best, too).

I feed mine Kaytee Timothy Complete and thier timothy hay. I can't afffrod 20 dollars for a 5 pound of Oxbows Cavy Cuisine. The shipping coasts it what hurts the most.

Mystic, you would be better off not feeding pellets at all, than feeding the kaytee ones ;) The preservatives in them cause cancer. My pigs won't hardly eat pellets, and do find on a modified hay and veggie diet.

Mystic, I absoloutely agree that Kaytee is bad. I'd stop feeding it to your pigs immediately, or at least as soon as soon as possible. Glad you placed an order on Oxbow though, i say it's worth the money.

I use Oxbow Cavy Cuisine. Carrot loves it!

I feed Oxbow Cavy Performance (for piggies under 1 year of age) and although my youngest two took a while to come around, they now all love the stuff to bits.

Hi hlover,

I went on oxbow's international website and found a couple of places in Japan. I don't know Japanese so can't find the prices, but the websites are usamori.com and moon-rabbit.jp. These also appear to be rabbit websites, but they might have cavy pellets.

Thank you (or as we say 'arigato gozaimasu') I have looked into that myself and I might try them if I can.

I checked with oxbow site to see if there was any store or vet that sell it near me and there is none. That makes it rough when the shipping and handling is more than the product itself

I know there are several forum members here that buy Timothy Pellets from Kleenmama's Hayloft with very happy piggies. And it doesn't appear to be over-priced. Try that...?

I feed them Supa Guinea Excel, I've heard it's one of the best to feed in the UK.
