"Thursday is Thanksgiving in the States … a day devoted to family, football, and eating our own weight in pie. Two kinds, please. And of course, gratitude."
I want to publicly say how much I appreciate everyone in the guinea pig community. Members of the forum hold a special place in my heart. You care, you say you care and you show you care. You care for the little creatures of the earth and each other.
I'm so grateful for this online community of guinea pig lovers. It's amazing how the little decisions you make in life end up shaping and giving meaning to your life. I feel blessed to have found my calling -- being an animal welfarist with an acute focus on guinea pigs and improving both the quality of life of guinea pigs and the pet experience for people. I feel that I've contributed significantly over the years to raising awareness on these issues and inspiring others to pick up the torch and enrich their lives as well. I am so deeply thankful that I've been able to have this life and these experiences. I am a very lucky woman.
I am profoundly grateful for the man in my life. Our relationship is too wonderful for words. I wish everyone could experience this. The world would be a better place.
As I get older, family and friends become more golden and appreciated.
I am happy that I gave up the corporate life during the height of my rescue days. It has been a very financially difficult process to say the least. Even though I lost my house a year and half ago (short sale), I've landed on my feet and am happy where we are. After giving up so much and spending years creating various websites and tools and content, I feel that my vision of where I wanted to take things is finally starting to come together. I am grateful that this community has been supportive. I've made mistakes along the way and lost a few online friends as a result. I'll try to do better.
I am so thankful for the help and support that I receive directly. I want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank my Moderators and Administrators. They work around the clock to help keep the forum a great place to hang out for everyone.
Paula, Aertyn (Nicole), bpatters (Billie), Char-x (Charlotte), Duffinvt (Debbie), foggycreekcavy (Lisa), Lissie (Lis), salana (Sal), Suzilovespiggie (Suzi), VoodooJoint (Elly) and last but not least, Ly&Pigs (Ly).
Without you all, there wouldn't be a forum. I am very grateful for your support and help.
I also want to thank a few more people. Sue Galanto has become like a sister to me. I feel like we are on an adventure together. We've only gotten together in person once when she visited me California a couple of years ago. But, our expanding cages store business has been fun and challenging and a learning and growing experience. After over a decade of doing hard core rescue, where the money just streams out the door in a river of red ink, it's been tough for me to be okay with actually making money. But I've come to the conclusion that I need to be able to keep doing what I like to do and I want to continue to be able to provide great value and services to this community. But I am and will always be looking for creative ways to help others be successful, too. That's the part that is enriching and fulfilling. I'm looking forward to an additional new business and friend relationship with Jenny Sawyer as we roll out our new fleece and stuff store coming very soon. It's exciting and I'm so happy I have some great people in my life!

It's cathartic to share. Please feel free to share what you are grateful for this year.
