Looking in the mirror and seeing the back of my head like in The Secret Window. Mirrors tend to scare me at night. I think I can freak myself out more then anything. Closed shower curtains make me edgy too.......why are all mine bathroom related? LOL

I second the mirror thing. The whole Blody Marry thing. I think that someday I'm going to look in the mirror and it won't be my facy looking back.

Uggg..Getting chills just thinking about it....Oh, and the little girl from The Ring. I have this irrational fear too that someone is in my trunk and any minute my back seats will fold down and I will see some bald scary looking man in my review mirror smile manically at me. :sorry:

lol Well, I wouldn't be scared of an old lady. More like a bloody woman holding a knife. I'm glad I'm not scared of worms though. I'd never be able to garden! I never thought I was switched at birth eiether, though I have wished it!

There is a mountain called Gates Pass about 15 min a way from me. There is one turn that is so narrow, going around the mountain in a sharp curve and going down hill. I get really nervous going through it everytime. I was talking to someone about it who drove it everyday and I asked him how he dealt with it. He said he closes his eyes. Thankfully he was kidding.
There has been more than one occassion someone has driven off the edge and that was the end of the road for them.
I do not like that road. I only drive it when absolutely necessary. After that point the mountain road is fun to drive.

I second the bloody mary thing in the mirror. I remember being so afraid of that I could not go to the bathroom alone, I always took one of my dogs. If the bathroom is dark I am out of it like a bullet.

The shower scene in Psycho made me not want to go in the shower for days. (I did, so don't think I stank for a week)

I don't watch any scarey films at all - my imagination is active enough without it being further fuelled by more scarey stuff! Nothing beyond PG rating reaches my innocent eyes!

Is any-one else afraid of heights?

This only crept up on me a couple of years ago (in my early thirties). Had never been bothered by heights before - but exploring an old castle - got to the top of a turret (spiral staircase etc) - my son started wandering around the edges. I was literally frozen to the inner wall - calling desperately for him to move away from the edge! It was awful, I was terrified he was going to fall!

That's it - from that day on, I have been officially afraid of heights. (boo) Have tried several climbing wall/ sky-ride type 'adventures' to rid myself of this horrible affliction - but my legs turn to jelly, my stomach lurches and I start to panic. (yet to be defeated - made it to the top every time - just not at all happily!)

Any cures anyone???

OHHH, and I have a colleague who is afraid of large ceiling-ed rooms. Museums, and grand halls etc. Her fear is like mine - except that it is the fear of all the space above her - rather than the vast chasm below!

Im afraid of drains only in the bathroom, ghosts, being alone in the house and crowds of people at shopping centers.

I used to be terrified of the chuckie movies, and I constantly think a ghost is either in my living room or the kitchen, but somehow cant get me if im in the bedroom or bathroom? Am also scared of going to unfamilar places and often have minor panic attacks if I dont know where im going beforehand.

Man, Fluffball, I totally know what you mean on all of those.

I actually have an anxiety disorder along with social phobias. So crowded loud places and me do not mix.

As a child Chuckie was my bane. I still don't like him now.

As far as ghosts go though, I'm more scared of them being in my bedroom and bathroom. Or in empty rooms when I walk by.

People who dress up in costumes. It sounds stupid but they scare me.

I saw Psycho when I was 5 yrs old at one of my sister's friend's house. I was freaked about a knife coming thru the walls of the shower for years. My dog growing up was trained to go into the bathroom with me when I went in. I use to take some mighty fast showers.

When I was small I was terrified to asleep alone in my bedroom of our "new to us" single home. My bedroom was at the end of the hallway with my parents bedroom and bathroom across from each other in front of it. I was getting a bath with the door open (I was only about 6) and I vivdly remember a man dressed in older clothes glide down the hallway from the direction of my bedroom-glance at me as he pass-and into the wall. I slept with my older sisters for years after that and was afraid to get baths without someone near. Ironically enough, years later my mother and sisters all described seeing the same man glide down that hallway from the direction of my room. It had been literally built on old farm land so who knows. I never had told anyone what I had saw. To this day I am highly sensitive to things and I swear it is partially do to him.
