Sounds What are my piggies trying to tell me?

Today I trimmed Georges toenails. He was such a good boy. Afterward, he sat on my lap and I stroked his back and scratched around his ears. He kept making this purring sound and vibrating. He made no move to bite or get away, so I assume he was saying he was enjoying the petting?
Gobo is more vocal. When I tried to do his nails he kept pulling away, so I stopped after 2. He sat in my lap and would come towards me with a soft wheeking sound that seemed almost conversational, sometimes when I pet his nose he tosses his head up, I cant tell if he enjoys the petting or if he is threatening to bite me? He has made no move to actually bite and has never shown his teeth...

George probably does not like the petting. the "Purr" noise is usually a "Please stop" and not a "That feels so good" noise, but, if it's more of a "Brr" noise then it's a "That feels so good".

If Gobo is hitting your hand with his head, then he probably does not like it.

It might have been more of a “burr“ noise? He did not sound like a cat purring...more like a wookie? He seemed comfortable, and was looking around, so I dont think he was frozen with fear.
For Gobo, is there anything I can do to make him more friendly?

Don't pet gobo for 48 hours, then try and pet him once in the cage (I SAY ONCE) if he runs away, repeat, if he is okay with it, pick him up and pet him in your lap. if that does not work, well, I don't know.

Thats a little much. With holding contact for 48 hours will NOT do any good in this case.
I get "bur" sounds from Whistles quite a bit if I pet his bumm

OP you are totally fine to pet your pig where ever and how much you want. Your pig was probably not feeling the moment and would of much rather liked a carrot than a pet. Same goes when I clip my pug's claws. "just gimme the darned cookie and all is forgiven!"

My piggies will sometimes do the soft burbling (as I call it) in appreciation of being pet. The soft wheeking sound is something my Oscar will do when he is curious or interested in something. And yes, tossing the hand off means that your piggy doesn't like his head getting rubbed. Mine are the same way. I stick to chin, back and belly rubs, as well as cuddling lol

Esme, my youngest piggy, was stand-offish at first as well, and did not like being held or pet. I hand-fed her veggies and fruits in her home and then also supplemented this with short periods of lap-time coupled with fresh treats. Although she's still wiggly, she does enjoy her lap-time with me now.

Piggies are fickle creatures. Amy does the head toss when she's feeling cranky, but then she'll flop over and totally relax and nearly fall asleep. She burrs when I pet anywhere near her butt, but she'll do the soft little wheeks when she likes the petting.

If your piggy is vibrating, it might be from nervousness. Borat did that when I first got him, but he never does it anymore.
