I adopted one of my girls a few weeks ago and found out she was pregnant. I think she is getting very close because she is seeming very uncomfortable and irritable. I can't feel the two bones that people are talking about and I don't want to pick her up or stress her out. However, yesterday I noticed I can't really feel the babies kicking anymore but I can still hear their teeth chattering. Also, since yesterday afternoon, she has had a wet bottom. I don't know what it is...do their waters break? She lays down but can't seem to get comfortable and is always changing positions or biting at her back end. Are these all normal signs that her birth is near? I just want to make sure everything goes well and she is comfortable. Also, she is in with two other females, do I need to move her? Thanks for any advice in advance.

I don't think you have to move her out away from the other females. I have heard restlessness is a sign that birth will be getting nearer. I've never had a preggie piggie myself but I have read many things about them from different people posting. Her hind end could possibly be wet if she peed and then sat in that spot where she went. I haven't heard anything about a piggies "water breaking". Also I believe the babies will settle down and not kick or be real active before birth. I have a feeling you will have babies soon.

yeah i think you might have some babies is like the next 48 hrs or so...

Well, nothing so far... I called the shelter and they gave me the date she was surrendered to them... so I guess I'll go by that date, which would make her seven or eight weeks along. She seems to get bigger every day! I'll just have to be patient and give her lots of good foods. I just want to have healthy babies and a healthy, happy momma. I'll keep you all updated...

They will be here eventually. I know waiting for anything is always the hardest part especially if your impatient.

Just curious, how old is your piggie that's getting ready to become a Momma?
Did they say or maybe I missed it somewhere.
Hope all goes well for her and her little ones.

You don't need to move her to check her pelvis bone. Just move down her spine and where the tail should be, there are two bones that split. They should be 2 finger widths before delivery.

Hi Twinkle, my mamma piggy is about two years old according to the shelter. I have a feeling this isn't her first litter, but there is no way I can be sure. I have been feeling her pelvic bone by following her spine like you said Katie and I can feel that they are getting further apart each day, but not two fingers yet so we'll see...
