Weight Question

I was curious....how much does an average adult cavy weigh? My little piggies only weighed 1 1/2 lbs at the vet. They are still young though. When do they reach adulthood?

That's fine for a young pig. The females grow to about 2.1-2.5 ls\bs, and the males grow to about 2.5-3 lbs. They are fully grown by the time a year has gone by.

I think they reach adulthood at 8 months old but i'm not sure. I read the average weight of sows should be between 2 and a half to 3 pounds and boars should weigh between 3 to 3 and a half pounds.
