My piggie is one month old and won't drink from her water bottle. Is there a way to teach her how to do it or is there another alternative for her?

If you have only one piggie, the best way is to adopt an older pig from a shelter or rescue. Nothing like another piggie to teach a young piggie about piggie life. Plus paired pigs are most often happier and healthier.

If that's not an option, try to observe if your pig is having trouble reaching the nozzle and adjust it higher or lower as needed.

If you are feeding plenty of veggies, especially romaine, cucumber or celery, he may be getting enough water from that.

does she actually try to retrieve water from the bottle? If so, the bottle must be broken. As Chad said some pigs get the water they need from the vegetables. Somebody said that they washed their veggies and left them wet when feeding the pigs. This way they are able to get some extra water.

Thanks for the reply.....she does not try to drink from the bottle. I put a small dish of water in her cage and she seems to be drinking from that without tipping it. At least she is getting something. I will also put some excess water with her vegetables.

When she goes nearby the bottle, & put her mouth close to it, u can squeeze the bottle abit so that water drops out. Therefore she may knows that's the place she can get water from.
