Hey all,
Noticed something that my pigs have been doing recently; not sure if I can chalk it up to behavior or just a bad water bottle. But basically, one of them would drink non-stop from it, which would in turn cause the bottle to start leaking. Initially, I thought they might've just been especially thirsty, but on a particular refill I noticed that within a day half of it would be gone and the fleece under it would be visibly soaked with water.
Thinking the bottle might just be old, I bought a new one, but same thing. I would fill it and it wouldn't leak, but then sometimes within a day or two once they start drinking from it, next thing you know the entire bottle is empty and the fleece is wet. My guess is that the act of drinking is somehow causing the bottle to leak even after they stop.
Has anyone else experienced this? And anyone have bottle brands they recommend that are more leak-proof?
For context, I've been using the Choco Nose bottle for years and never noticed any issues with it until very, very recently. So again, I'm not sure if it's behavioral in that they've been especially thirsty lately, which is leading the bottle to being used more often, which is causing it to leak more, or if I should switch to a different/better bottle.
Thank you!
