I was wondering how often you all wash your guinea pig's food dishes, water bottle, etc.

I would say a complete cleaning and disenfecting once a month

really? i ahve been washing everything every week. How often does everyone else?

I usually wash the dishes and scrub the water bottles whenever I clean the cage, so I guess twice a week. I change out their fleece beds once a week, and wash them with the cage fleece. As far as completely disinfecting the cage, I'll probably do an all-over quick wipe-down once a month. I don't think it should take more than that...

I wash their dishes whenever I do my own, which is usually once or twice a day. After my dishes are clean I do theirs. I have extra dishes for them, so if there's food in them I transfer it to a clean one while the others are being washed. Water bottles get cleaned about once a week. Cages get a disinfecting wipe down every time I clean them (unless I'm in a hurry).

I clean them once a day, when I refresh their food and water, but twice a week, when cleanig the cage I sterilize everything, I boil the dishes and water bottles toys, things that will not melt. Dont worry I do wait to cool them down before putting them back in the cage.

I usually wash their food dishes and water bottle, etc. once a week (when i change their cage)is this ok or should i be doing it more or less? You all seem to do wash them different amounts of times. How often are you suppose to wash them, or does it not matter.

I clean water bottles and food dishes once a week. Sometimes more if needed. I clean pigloos and whatever else is in their cage like that once a month, by soaking it in a vinegar and water bath. I put cuddle cups in the wash once a week- those get pretty nasty.

my pigs like to pee in their food dish ! every day it gets wet and soggy , so i clean it every day , but will it hurt if they eat the food before i get to clean it , any ideas on how to get them to stop doing there dirt in the dish ?

Thy these (broken link removed)

Hang them high enough so that they can just reach it but they can't wee in it.

thanks , il look into ordering one .sounds like a good solution ! comon sense i guess to put it up higher ...lol

I usually clean the dishes when I'm cleaning the cage unless they look dirty when they empty them from eating.

I do a quick wash every 4-5 days when I clean the cage and a more thorough cleaning/disinfecting once a month.

I clean bowls whenever they look as though they need it, which is probably once a week as I tend to clean bowls after I've finished cleaning cages. I clean cages roughly every 4 or 5 days. Water bottles I clean whenever I spot a spot of green on it. I use warm water and washing up liquid.

i spray the cage with vinegar every time i clean it.
and about every month i put in the pigloos, dishes and water bottles in the dishwater to disinfect

I sweep up the poops off the fleece once a day and wash it once a week. Food bowls and water bottles about once a week as well.

I generally wash their litters about once a week unless they get really wet, then its a little sooner. I wash out the water bottle about every 2 nights. I actually rarely completely wash out the food dish though. I have a stainless steel one and I generally just wipe it with a damp cloth and that is usually enough to get it all shiny again. I wash out their veggie bowl about once a week because the lettuce always seems to plaster itself onto the side of the bowl. Every 2 weeks, I will usually wash the stuff like their pillows and the fleece covers for their cube tents.
