And Slap, remember how one of your pigs needed a medicine... and your vet was angry with you for not wanting to use Baytril... what happened?

Yup, that's Maia!

Turns out I remembered that the vet also suggested pennicillin. Basically that is a death sentance (causes fatal and irreversable diahrea 100% of the time) so I left the clinic and went to my old vet. He perscribed Bactrim and drained the abcess.

Oh my ... I am glad I never did that ... I was told by a store keeper that it was fine !! Poor baby must have had a rotten night ! And slap_maxwell she is absolutely adorable, lots of love in her eyes.

I previously knew that banana should be fed in moderation. I almost never feed it, but the night before last I fed about a half of a small banana cut up to my five pigs (peel included). That apparently was to much. I weighed them last night, and one of my three year old females was 5oz heavier than normal. She had a very large stomach, and it was very sensitive. I talked to Ly and Voodoo and they said she might be constipated. So for about fifteen minutes, I got about 30 poops out of her by gently sqeezing her stomach and spreading her anal area. Then I gave her some lettuce drenched in vegtable oil. (Which she loved). She is lighter and hopefully feels better, and by the end of the night was pooping on her own. Just a lesson for everybody- banana should be fed in 'super moderation'.

Once again, a wealth of information! This site is wonderful for learning how to keep our piggies happy and healthy. Thank you for the story, Slap, and I will warn my husband. He waits for me to go to sleep and gives the boys too many treats - he is a sucker for their begging!
