I just got Peanut some Red Peppers and vitamin c tablets yesterday and she loves both of them. How many mg of vitamin c does a pig need a day. The tablets are 500 mg, the only ones I could find.

I think its supposed to be 100 mg or something, but for vitamin C you can't overdose, whatever she doesn't need will be expelled in her urine.

I give mine 50mg each day.

If it has sugar in it, don't give it to her. Unless i'm mistaken. Can you give them Vitamin C pills with sugar in them?

I just checked mine. Has 1 gram of sugar per 100 gram tablet. Is 5 calories. I'm almost running out of them. I'll check to see if they sell them without sugar.

CC gets a good green pepper every day, just enough for him since he is still young. And man does he love them.

pennick-What are the Vitamin C tablets you use called? Also, where do you get them?

I have to trick my pigs into eating peppers. They wait until they are sure I'm not going to offer anything else. Kale is a good source of vitamin C as well. I've read here that its not too hard to get your piggies the right amount of Vitamin C with daily fresh veggies.

I agree with Ketus. My pigs just don't like bell peppers. I even tried to trick them with the orange kind-they thought they were getting baby carrots. Once I had all the food in the bowl, I let them eat and 10 minutes later, there was only a pile of orange bell peppers left. I guess some piggies like them and some don't.

I get them from the health food store. Fruit flavored 100 mg. Vitamin C tablets. Dont remember the name at this time.

50 mg is the max a day that you should give. The pigs should be getting enough Vit. C from veggies to where they don't need the supplement unless they are sick.
