I must again echo Pinky... emailing the nearest rescue and seeing if they have any suggestions would be a great idea. Be honest and tell them that you have tried other avenues but you are frustrated with CL and people flaking out on you. They will likely do what they can to accommodate you and your driving situation, and if they can't help, then you gave it your best shot without expending much energy.

I am a stark supporter of rescue, but the choice is ultimately in your hands and your hands only. Even if you make the decision that you cannot wait for a needy pig to become available near you and must purchase one from a breeder, please do what is best for your pigs and continue participating in the forums. You will learn a ton and your life with your pigs (along with the pigs' lives) will be much happier and more fun!

To add to what others have said, some rescues are willing to drive a portion or all the way to someone willing to adopt. Their goal is to get pigs adopted, most will do whatever it takes to make that happen. So I wouldn't dismiss the idea of calling rescues, even ones that are far away to see what they can do to help.

Here is a pig located 1.5 hours from you. It is listed by the owner, not a breeder, and the phone number is in the listing. I would be willing to bet they would meet you halfway. Pig is only 5 months old, and is being given up for the classic: "my son lost interest in her"
