I am starting a new post, because I would like to discuss just VetBed. I don't house any of my animals outside (the cat is asleep in a sunbeam on the stairs right now). I just would like to hear pros and cons on VetBed vs Mattress Pads or Towels.
Currently my cage is a 2x4 with a 1x4 upper. I am using Mattress Pads and am not having any issues with smells, but I am having issues with the mattress pads shrinking. I found some clearance beach towels that will fit the cage and bought those, but I am sure that they will shrink on me as well. I am wondering about using VetBed under my fleece:
1) How much does it shrink after the initial washing?
2) How long can I go between washing, if I use it with fleece?
3) Does it hold up well to being washed in a front loader? This is one reason I haven't bought Zorb is I am concerned about how well it holds up to being washed.
4) How hard is it to cut?
5) How long does it last if it is well cared for? I am trying to justify the cost of it vs towels or mattress pads.
