What veggies are ok for my piggies? I've heard iceberg lettuce isn't good for them. Why is that?

Are there any special veggies that piggies can eat? What about fruits? I usually give mine romaine lettuce, carrot, cucumber, zucchini, and some fruits like watermelon and pears. What else is good for them?

Also, where can I buy rose-hip?

The problem with iceberg lettuce is that it has little nutritive value. It's like eating water. We don't even feed the stuff to our ducks at the wildlife rehab center I volunteer at.

Iceburg is also high in something unhealthy but I can't remember what. Carrots should not be fed everyday because they are high in fat solubable vitamins. Cucumber is a bit watery with little nutritional value but still alot better than iceburg. Other vegetables to feed in moderation are radishes, parsley, spinach, and kale. Fruits should be given only a couple times a week. Check guinealynx.info especially the nutrition link for lots of info and a huge list of foods. Foods mine get are:
Cilantro
Leaf lettuces
butter lettuce
squash
bell peppers
basil
celery leaves: stems are a choking hazard
romaine lettuce
water cress
cucumber
parsley: once or twice a month only
radishes: less than once a month

Thanks! I only feed them carrots about once a week.

Is any kind of squash okay or is it just squash in general? I can't picture a guinea pig eating spagetti squash ....

I haven't tried spaghetti squash. I'm not very knowledgeable in squash varieties. I think mine have had crookneck, butternut, and one just labelled yellow summer squash. I usually take a fairly sharp knife and slice it into 1/2" thick round pieces and feed it to them.
