Veg*n Vegetarian

For thanksgiving, you can just make fake meat by either buying it or making a TVP (textured vegetable protein) recipe. You really can have "meat", just not the real stuff.

Oh, and for dog toys, you can buy NylaBones. They love kongs, too! Stuff it w/peanut butter and they go nuts!

is fish part of a veggitaians diet? did that kit say something about jello being bad?

If you need recipes, go to (broken link removed).

oh my gawd. i just saw the video. those poor cows, hanging by thier feet.............

No, fish really shouldn't be. I've been eating it because I think it would be too much of a shock right now to switch instantly like I did for the meats and poultry. I need to find an appropriate food store yet, so I'm sort of on pastas and soups, veggie wraps for lunch, etc. It's tough to start out with, but once I find TVP or veggie burgers, I should be fine.

About the jello, yes it's icky. They boil pigs' skin and cows' hooves to get the gelatin part from what I remember. You don't *need* to give everything up, remember, to be vegetarian, only meats (and fish). You can also drink milk and eat eggs or not, your choice. To become vegan, you need to give up all the animal products: meats, fish, dairy, eggs, all animal products period.

Did you watch the whole thing, l2t?

well i dont really drink milk, I eat ice cream occasionally, so i can probably give it up, is there some sort of ice cream substute?

Ok jellos out of the question now, as is meat and dairy. I'm ganna keep eggs and fish on my menu however just to help with the switch.

What about shrimp?

o ya leather and fur are out too

o hey, what kinda shoes do I get then, and is playing volleyball bad?

As for shoes, you can check online for vegan suppliers. There's pleather, the alternative to leather, you can buy. So you want to go vegan, huh?

no. i watched until i saw the pigs being slammed onto the floor, then realised i was crying, turned it off, then went and sat on my bed sniffling for a few minutes.

i couldnt take it.

maybe... for now veggitarian, but we'll see.

Those shoes are so $$$

shrimp is a seafood, classified along with crabs, clams and other shellfish.

I still eat dairy products but I don't eat fish. My computer is being stupid and not letting me watch it.

Yeah, I know. That's why I'm only vegetarian. I don't think I could do that switch just yet.

l2t--I know how you feel. I made myself watch the whole thing, hands covering my face exept my eyes, tears streaming down my face... Whoever watches that and knows the truth and still eats meat--well, I guess you have to have my respect, because I just couldn't do it. I thought I could, but it's been over a year, and I felt increasingly worse for it.

I am wanting to get off of the dairy products soon. I got off meat, poultry, and fish righ off the back.

That's odd, mybabymu. Did you click the link and choose the right speed/program?

I cant watch it all just yet, the 30 second one was bad enough
