Well, the petshop person said that it's better not to feed the pig with vege or fruit... why is that? Should I feed my pig with vege or fruit even on the 1st day on arrival to my house?

petshop people hardly ever know what they are talking about. I would feed the veggies or fruit the first day but only in small small portions untill they get used to it.

They have no clue what they are talking about.

You said that pigs were rare where you live, so I wouldn't trust what the pet stores tell you.

But the petstore person also rears guinea pig, hamster and all... and the shop does look professional and it's originates from Singapore ( you guys should know that country ).. Anyway, I'll tell them next time I stop by. thanks

Give them this site and www.guinealynx.com. Cavy mills rear pigs too, but that doesent mean they know anything useful about them.

The man I got my first guinea pig from told me he had guinea pigs at home and new them well also. I was foolish to trust him. He didn't bother to sex my guinea pig before I bought him, so what I thought was a 'she' was actually a he. Funny story. I was VERY PO'ed. Seriously, I don't trust a thing pet shops say.

Don't listen to petshops told you. Don't buy what they recommended you. Fresh vege/fruit is very important to GP as they need vit. c from it.
