using ladder

I just finished the second storie of my Cavy Condo over the weekend, I can put my piggies on the 2nd level and they will hang out a while and they will use the ladder to come back down but they are not using it to go up on there own, how long does it normally take for them to want to use all of the cage?

My pigs would not go up onto the 2nd floor either, nor would they go up on the little perch I had in the corner of the cage. Then one day, I walked in the room, and suprisingly, my blind one was on the perch! Just give them some time. They'll figure it out eventually. I did have to show my blind pig where the ladder was, but when she figured it out, she went there all the time.

u may put some of his fav food, hay or toy on 2nd level. put them at 2nd level so that they know those things r located at 2nd level. when they want it they will climb up themselve.
