Urine stains..maybe vinegar will do the trick? or bleach..or maybe some Kaboom.

I have white coroplast too. The stains on mine actually come from the ink on the newspapers I lay down. When the pee soaks through, the newspaper sticks to the coroplast and the ink gets printed on.

I 'solved' it by laying down a layer of fleece under the newspapers, the fleece stays pretty dry, and there's no wetness on the coroplast, so it's working so far. I just throw the fleece into the washer every other week.

I use Walmart brand of incontinece (sp?) pads on the bottom, under everything. They are cheap and easy to change.

I keep a spray bottle filled with a solution of vineger, water, and very diluted bleach. Everytime I clean cages, I spray it down with this. Stains never even begin to develop this way.

I use a 50/50 vinigar/water mixture to clean all Guinea Pig stuff, plus I add 1 cup of vinigar in with the washer when ever I wash piggy stuff.

Is it safe to have bleach and vinegar together? I am always afraid to mix chemicals the fumes can be so dangerous.

Maybe not! Good question. I'm bad about stuff like that.

One time I was trying to get a stain out of a new apartment floor, and I was mixing cleaners. For some reason the stuff mommy taught me didn't really stick! I ended up getting a horrible headache, starting to feel weird, and had to dive outside onto the grass, mere moments from passing out!

So maybe I am not to be listened to with regards to chemicals.

I use 50/50 vinegar and water also but for really bad urine scale neat vinegar works well. Pour it on and leave to soak for about one hour before scouring off.

I use vinegar and bleach in the wash with mine and have not had any scarey chemical reactions yet. I pour the vinegar in straight and put the bleach in the bleach dispenser part of the washer.

I have been doing this for a few months now for my fleece.

I only have one blanket of fleece in the bottom of my cage, but underneath it I use disposable baby multi-use pads. Mine are Munchkin brand and I get them in the baby dept. at Target.

Wheekie, how much do the disposable baby multi-use pads cost. How many come in a packet? What is the difference between Munchin brand and other brands, cost?
