I'm not sure about this, I just noticed it this morning when I was giving my guinea pig her daily veggies. When she breathes it's like a quiet ticking-like sound, or really soft squeaking. Maybe like when your nose is kind of stuffed up, and you're sniffling-except quieter. She doesn't have a runny nose, her nose looks pretty clean, but I shouldn't take any chances. I've told my dad she might be sick, but the last time I thought she was sick and we took her to a vet ASAP (on my dad's work day-which he was pretty mad about because he had to cancel a meeting), it turned out she wasn't sick and we wasted $50... Now he's doubtful that she's really sick and I don't want to get him mad again cause I wasted his time and because I wasted money over something he thought was not needed. I need some opinions, to see if she's very sick and how to convince my dad today (since the vet is not open today and I'm very busy next week with school).

Has anything else changed eating, pooping, activity ect.

Is this a cavy-savy vet you're using? Have you been weighing her? Are there any other symptoms?

Everything seems to be about the same as usual. I've been weighing her-and it's about everything should be. The only thing I've really noticed differently is that most of the time she's hiding inside her pigloo and only comes out when I get really close to her cage... When she comes outside, though, she acts the same as she always does...

As for the vet, she didn't know much about guinea pigs at all. This time when I asked my dad, I asked if we could bring her to a vet that knows a lot about guinea pigs recommended by a lot of people I know near where my dad works-which is about an hour and 30 minutes away.

I would monitor her for other signs of a URI for a few days. Watch for runny nose, crusty eyes, runny eyes, soft poos, harsh breathing.

If you bed her on shavings, it could be she has a small piece of shavings stuck up her nose. Listen to her chest and see if she sounds like she has a clicky type noise coming from her chest.
