George has part of some cilantro stuck on his eye. Is there a safe way to get it off?? Is it dangerous to leave it on his eye? Like will it come out on its own?

I would just gently pull it out. Gigi had a piece of hay in the corner of her eye once and I just pulled it out....there was never any after problem. :)

He keeps closing hi eye when I get close, though. Should I have my boyfriend gently hold his eye open or..?? :(

I honestly don't know, Gigi just let me slowly pull it out while I held her.

Yea, maybe get your boy friend to gently open his eye so you can slowly gently pull it out.

Something tells me sticking a finger in your pigs eye is not good. I've seen hay dust floating on my pig's eyes before and it came out on it's own.

I've used a damp cloth to gently get bits of hay out of my pigs eyes before. Can you maybe try that?

The piece of the cilantro isn't sticking out anywhere for me to pull it out, at least not that I can tell, it's against his eye. I tried blowing on it to see if maybe that would make it fly off or anything but it didn't work. :( Edit: I put him back in his cage for a minute to let him use the bathroom and such. @ellisa I'll try that in a little bit when I take him back out. I'm really just worried that it's hurting him or that if I don't get it off of his eye its going to go behind his eye or something and that he'll need surgery. Ugh :(

I got it out! I messaged my aunts ex wife on facebook and asked her about it because she used to be a tech at an animal hospital. She told me to try to flush it out with slightly warm water and it worked!

Glad that sorted out! I think I'll go buy some pig-safe eye drops, as this thread now has me wanting to prepare. Ha! :p
