A couple from a local guinea pig rescue came over this past weekend to pick up Minnie and brought 2 babies to meet my Molly to try to find her a friend. Molly kept chasing and nipping both babies, so they left with all 3 pigs.
They suggested that we give Molly time as the only guinea pig and let her become friends with the humans first. That makes, sense, but can anyone give me suggestions on getting her more tame.
She has a short cuddle in the morning cuddle and floor time with us every evening adding up to about 2 hours a day. Is that enough social time? During floor time I sit beside her on the floor and she explores but mainly sits beside me.
Secondly, the rescue offered to take her to their herd for a week or two to get her socialized. Has anyone had experience with this sort of thing, can this be helpful?
I'm not trying to force a friend on Molly, just thought it would be better for her : )
