I think my piggies may be fighting or something. Maybe setting dominance. But last night i heard a lot of squeaking coming form them and it looks like the quiet one was trying to get at the active one. Ive also noticed the active one has been sleeping outside the hidey house that they shared. Well this morning as i looked in their cage the active ones eye was barely open, it looked like just a little slit. My mom went over it with warm water on paper towel to see if it was just kind of stuck closed but it didnt open up anymore. I dont know what this is, has anyone else ever had this happen. Will they be fine, and are they just being dominant and setting up territories. Please help, it doesnt seem to serious, but i am unsure. I was thinking that when i clean there cage today, i may put the active one on the bottom level with everything it needs and the quiet one can stay on the top. Adn then if they figure out how to use the ramp they will be able to get away from eachother when they want too. Would it be ok to use a tupperware container for a veggie bowl.

Thanks.

Hmm... Sometimes my active ones eyes go like that as well. They go really small so you can barely see them.

Oh, no! That's not good. Any updates at all? Yes, the plastic container is fine. I hope they've got everything worked out.

i was going to just lay my veggies down on a piece of newspaper on top of my patio

You don't even need the newspaper, anything's fine as long as it's not toxic.

okee dokee! cool!

no, i actually take that back. i think ill stick to the newspaper because what if they pee in a particular spot and by mistake i put veggies in that same spot?

Ok first of all don't use newpaper unless you know that that the company that prints it uses all naturual dyes. Just use a flat plastic container, I use them in my cages. They work great the veggies stay clean. And if you were to use newspaper then because veggies are moist they would make the dye on the newspaper run. And personally no matter how safe the dye supposably is I wouldn't want my piggs eating it. You can get a flat plastic containers at dollar tree, and another idea is (broken link removed) , they sell these at dollar tree, they come in different sizes, i would get one a little bit smaller. These work great for hay racks and veggie trays as I call them.

cinn, doesnt the oregonian use vegetable based ink?

I think but I am not positive (you might want to double check), and I still don't want my piggs eating dye at all. It's your decision but for a dollar they could have a cute little veggie tray! Ok sorry for being pushy about the veggie tray thing lol. You do what works out best for you. I am sooo happy for you, you will be the greatest piggy mom! =)

i already have a veggie tray exactly like that except its red, but then i thought it would just be easier for me and the pigs if it was just on a flat sheet of newspaper

well when my piggies were babies they used to love to sit in their veggies trays, it was just so darn cute! They would sit in them after they ate all the veggies and stare up at me asking for more!

aaaw, how cute!

My mom washed it again tonight while i was at work. It looks better. Hes all wrapped up in a towel with me right now. Where do you guys get those cozie things from, i wanna get a few.

we make them with our lovely sewing skills. if you wanna buy (an dont trust your creative hand) My Baby Mu ( a member on this forum) has a nice little online business called Diamond Cavies that sells the cozies for super cheap - you will get to pick size and color, i believe. and i hear her shipping is great too.

Just so no one thinks hes freezing. I just wrapped him in the towel just to see if hed be a bit more comfy. He hasnt been in either of the two houses for some reason so i just wrapped him up.

do you mean hidey houses when you say house?

Yeah, they have two hidey houses, i should have been more specific. His eye is almost perfectly better today, maybe he just poked himself in the eye. I think im going to talk to my mom and see if i can make my cage a 2*4 with a 1*4 upper level. And i may make a different ramp because i dont think they like the one they have now. I may try tthe one out of pencil boxes.

Ya her shipping is great I only have to pay $5.00 (I believe) for shipping. And I am ordering 2 cozies, 1 bed, and 2 pillows..... I am excited!!!!

and how mush was the total bill for all those items (shipping excluded) ????
