Ugg!!!

I am going to make the loft all on grids so I can still see all of their cage/

How are you going to do that?

That's a good idea!

"Dagwell, I have a 2x4 upper level and a 4x6 bottom and I only have 2 piggies not 4. I would keep them in their big cage, but I have to do stuff that I like also. I do soccer, basket ball and I sometimes play football with some of my friends. I also do many other after school activities and I have a lot of homework. I would keep their big cage, but it is getting to much work."

Hey, Poohbear, I'm also in a lot of activities. Church youth group, church choir, trying to make college decisions, IB (Intenational Baccalaureate) classes in school (that's just a very challenging curriculum) which means tons of homework, I'm doing my girl scout gold award project right now, taking care of my pigs and dog, and I'm in three sports every school year. I don't get home until 5 on any given day (this is break--sports start next moday again for the spring), have about two hours of homework, eat, take care of the pets, try and squeeze in my project, and attempt to remain sane! I tell you, I don't even know why I'm doing this. :p So, I think you should be fine cleaning, it takes only maybe and hour or so to clean a cage, and that's once every two-three weeks for me. I don't spend time with friends normally--I do at school and in sports and just try to catch up when I have a bit of time. :) Good luck with the new cage!

Thanks everyone, I was in a bad mood when I wrote it yesterday so please if you could forget about what I said. I will post pics of my new cage once I cut the coroplast and get the other room ready.

Aww, I'm sorry Poohbear. I can't wait to see pictures!

No promblem, I will start the cage on the weekend.

Since I redid my loft to a 2x3, I have found it hard to clean the back of the 3x4. I will probably keep trying different loft configurations until I come up with one I like and where both main level and loft level are easy to maintain and clean.
Just as an idea, how about sitting the loft section on a board that is slightly larger than 2X3? That way it can just sit on top of the walls of the lower section, and when it comes to cleaning you can just lift it off?

That's a good idea Smudger, but I hate not being able to see under the 2x3 loft. I love watching my pigs run around in the cage and now they stay under there most of the time. I may go back to the 1x4 corner loft like I used to have it. I will be moving the cage into my bedroom in another week or two because it's much cooler back there for them now that the weather is warming up. When I move it though, I may just expand the main level and not put a loft at all. I will see what kind of room I have left over once I rearrange my bedroom furniture.

The only way I can think of to solve that problem (if you did want to keep the set-up you have) would be to use a sheet of perspex instead of wood-that way you could still see them, but it would mean you couldn't really put much stuff up there! Ah well, back to the drawing board!

What is perspex?

Not sure what you call it in the States-acrylic maybe? It's basically plastic that comes in sheets of varying size and thickness-it's quite commonly used as a cheap substitute for glass in things like sheds and greenhouses. :)

Plexi-glass maybe?

woooh! Im pysco!

I know what I said.

Just kidding, I couldn't figure out how to spell psychic so I went with another trait I possess, ;)

I had a 5x5 and a 2x5x2x4 L shape and it only too me 45 mins to do it.
