What brick would be best to use to absorb water under the water bottles? I've gone to home depot to look at the bricks there but cant decide on which brick to get. Most bricks look rough... and I often wonder if my girls will get hurt around the bricks.

I'd buy bottles that don't leak instead of buying bricks. I have 4 bottles and none of them leak.

I bought a whole new set of water bottles and im having bad luck with them leaking a bit. I know some leak and some leak very rarely but I guess it's just my luck. Plus one of my girls loves to press up on the ball and tons of water drips down. I've double and triple checked the gaskets to make sure its secured but same deal =/.

Instead of using a brick, I would suggest using a "drip pad". I found one on Etsy... https://tinyurl.com/oob527h

Although I don't have one, the reviews make it look promising. And for the price, I feel as though it would be worth a try. I also know of several other online guinea pig shops that make drip pads (or something similar), so perhaps you could shop around. If you can sew, you might even be able to make one on your own!

Personally, I feel as though any type of drip or "potty" pad is going to be far more absorbent than a brick. You also won't have to worry about your piggies injuring themselves on it!

Do you use fleece bedding? I place a folded hand towel as an extra absorbent layer under my water bottles. Cheap and washable.
