Traveling?

I am going away for the weekend. We will be leaving on a friday evening and come back Sunday evening. I was wondering if I bought a pet carrier and outfitted it with food, water bottle and other necesities if I could bring my guinea pig with me? I am sure that bringing her with me would be easier than having to find someone to take care of her.
