Travel Advice?
I am moving to Brazil from the U.S. at the end of August, and planning to take our guinea pig with us. Because he is classified as a "rodent" he cannot travel inside the plane. I was willing to put him in a soft carrier and put him under the seat in front of me for the flight but it's not allowed. So, he has to go as "cargo". I have done as much research as I can. He has had his inspection by the vet, the certificate has been endorsed by USDA, and then "legalized" by the Brazilian Consulate. I have an approved carrier for him, and the most direct flight possible, but I'm just worried about the stress of travel for him. Does anyone have any advice in this regard? Should I surrender him, rather than put him through this? I have stocked up on his food and bedding to take with us, and I know he'll be fine once we get there. Thanks for any advice!
