Got an perfect report from the vet. She says my piggies are in really good shape. Was so glad to hear that. And got a conformation that Princess is pregnate. Looks like we have 3 babies on the way. The better part, she says princess looks and weights in at about 4-6 monthes old. That was also taking into consideration that she is 5 weeks along. So I can relax a little bit. Only problem this vet has never had to do a c-section. So if Princess has problems she said to call her, but she has never done it before. For being the only exotic pet vet intown, I guess I might have to make a trip to El Paso if I really have to. I was just happy to see she knew as much as she did about Cavy's. One of the nurses there wants me to bring the babies in so she can see them. She has never seen baby cavies before.

Well I just thought I would let you all know that it was a really good first trip.

I'm not sure, but wouldn't it be dangerous to take the babies out when its cold? Other than that it sounds great.

Taking the babies out? Taking them out of where? They have to come out of the womb at some point.

She lives in New Mexico. It's probably not cold down there .. . . unlike here in Detroit where were covered in about 12 inches of snow.

Ha ha what is snow? that we don't get here. And if we do not even enough to count. It is in the 65 to 70+ temp here. And besides no matter what the weather is a check up is always important. Would you wait for warm weather if you had concerns about your piggies? I don't think so. :p

Haha. We don't get snow down here either, I wish we did now and then I think it would be fun. We just get fog but I don't mind fog that much. Trixie you guys sure have nice weather! It's 45 out right now, but that's about as cold as it gets here. Good luck with the pregnant guinea.

sorry i didnt read where you lived. Katie i meant taking the babies to the vet to show the vet assistant.

No trust me, you guys are lucky. It's FREEZING over here - it's going to drop down to 6 degrees tonight, and that's not even windchill. Yesterday was quite balmy - at 36 degrees! =P

When it comes to winter I sure can say I love it here.. haha our only major problem is the wind it can kick up to easy over 75mph. Several deaths because of the wind. There is even warnings on all highways comeing in and out of New Mexico warning of dust and gusty winds.

Dagwell the babies wont leave the house till they are at least 2 weeks old. Unless they need to see the vet for a check up. But there is still about 5 weeks she has left before babies soo it will be spring time here. Infact if I was told right it will be right for spring break so I will be home for sure when she delivers. WHOOT.
