Nutrition too small?

Hey, so i finally got a scale to weigh my piggie.
I weighed him last night and he was at 900 grams. I looked on the Guinea Lynx site that said males should weigh between 900-1200.
So he barely meets the cut!
He is only 4 months old, so im assuming he is still growing. But is this ok? or is he too small??

What a cute piggy! I don't go by that because it just depends on a piggy's build. My Roger is a little over 1400 and the vet says he isn't overweight. As a matter of fact he may gain a few before he's done growing. Huey and Sheldon aren't far behind him and they are very sleek. The vet said Sheldon is a little under and will be gaining some now that he's being taken care of. He is around 3 years old. Your guy is still growing, just keep feeding him the recommended servings and he should be fine!

Guinea Lynx weights are for adult pigs, and pigs aren't adults until 9-12 months. Some keep growing after then. And there's some discussion about those weights being too light anyway. Your pig is fine -- just keep feeding him.

In fact, you quit reading too soon over there. Here's what GL actually says about weights:

Every guinea pig is different. Veterinary reference books frequently cite adult weights of:

900-1200 grams for males

700-900 grams for females

These weights do not seem typical nor representative of pet guinea pigs. Male and female weights are often similar and overall weight is generally higher.
