Too much toy?

I am just wondering... is there such a thing as too much toys?I start to find that my cage is a little bit too crowed. I got a tunnel, 2 cozies, a paper tunnel stuff with hay and a hammock in a 2x4 space.

How about rotating the toys. A few this week, and the others next week. Just keep the essentials all the time.

in my 2x3 cage, i have a large tunnel, two cozies, and a raised futon. plus a couple of jingly balls here and there. the piggies play with all the toys and will shriek if i remove anything (especially the cozies, they LOVE their cozies)

How about taking one or two out, then rotating them every so often? They love it when you change around their toys and cage.

mm... maybe because I put most of the toys on the ground, seems like they don't have much space to walk around anymore.

Yes, that's exactly it. So, how about just putting a few in at a time?

Yep, that's what I said, great minds think alike, LOLOLOLOL!

That's great Denise! If you'd consider me a great mind, that is. Hah!

Mm… Seems like everything in there is essential to my piggy. lol If I take away their tunnel they would look all upset and hide in a corner; if I took away their cozies they would even be more upset; if I took away the paper tunnel stuff with hay then they will need to go upstairs to get hay, and for some reason they just don’t like the hay upstairs (even thought they are the same hay).

So yeah, but anyway this afternoon I found a way to re-organized their living space. =) I made them a bulk bed and put the cozies upstairs. Here are some photos. =)

BTW, I think I am going to give up the little house that I made for them, it would be just a waste to dump it, anyone want to have it? It's about 6"X8", it would be good for any little piggy. It's a little home made house, so I won't charge anything but shipping, maybe a dollar or 2?

heeheee, almost forgot, here are the new bed photos

Cute! Keep the toys, you don't need to give anything away. All we're saying is this.

For example, if you have a tunnel, fiddlesticks, a pigloo, and a hidey house:

Week one:
Keep in the hidey house and the fiddlesticks.

Week two:
Keep in the pigloo and the tunnel.

And so on for all the weeks. If you have more toys, just switch those as well. By no means do you need to throw away the things that aren't in the cage!

Of course I do!!!! =)

Just make sure they still have space to run laps. If you find the cage too small with all that stuff, then try to expand.

those are the plastic unit that you put at the conor of your washroom, I got thoese from a dollar store. The one that you use to put the shampoo and everything on? Yeah they are quite nice. now they loved that. =)

I think I will try to expand my cage too. =( but I live in an apt. don't have as much space

Where is your cage located right now?

There are ways to conserve space creatively if you look through the calbums. You can put the cage on other grids or table to have storage underneath and cover it with a nice tablecloth.

Thanks Denise. ;)

That's a really cute idea, but I'm not sure that the large piggies can fit in there. I'll try to find a really big one though!

Right now they are in the living room, I build a table for them and under it I put all their supplies. There are more room if I move them close to the window, but then I think I would be too cold over there in winter. =( I WANT TO BUILD A BIGGER CAGE!!!!!!

I'm always for expanding the cage and fitting the toys that way, but that's just me. ;+)
