So while spending some time with my newest baby, I noticed a tiny white bug by her/his ear. I have noticed little white dots by his/her eyes too. I looked a bit closer to his/her ear and looks like there are more there. Lice maybe?

I checked out guinealynx briefly and it said that lice were visible. I haven't noticed any excessive scratching or anything and his/her fur looks fine (no scabs or hair loss anywhere). I plan to call a vet tomorrow, I just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas.

I would rather not have lice in my house...I have other furry pets. I'm kinda worried about spreading whatever and about the piggie, of course.

Lice is about the size of a small seasame seed if that helps any! I know when my sister's cat had fleas a long tiime ago, it was horrible! There is nothing nice at all about little critters running around your house like that! I feel for you! Good luck!

So I'm 99% sure that my piggie has lice...from what I've read (at guinealynx.com & veterinarypartner.com - recommended by a vet) and what a couple people have told me. How can I treat it? It's going to cost me about $35 for a vet office visit alone...I've called around, that's the average. If I have to take him/her to a vet, I will, but if I can treat it myself, I'd rather do that. Honestly, I'd rather use that money to buy hay.

Guinealynx has the treatments listed there. Advantage works. So does topical ivermectin.
