OK I'm going to confide in you guys something that no one else knows out side my immediate family (my son and hubby) I had a throat tumor and recently had it removed. My voice is now back to normal but I'm struggling with finding something I can eat! I've been eating homemade soup, ice cream, and cream of wheat but I'm getting so tired of these! I'm a person that loves to cook and I love puttering around in the kitchen all the time. You guys have any recipes or ideas for something new I can eat that soft and doesn't take much effort to swallow?

Do you have a juicer or one you could borrow? Home made juice can be its own culinary craft. You could probably find some recipes that might aid in your recovery.

I don't have a juicer but it does sound handy! I have found quite a few recipes that involve using a immersion blender which I have made over and over again! Pioneer Woman's broccoli cheese soup is one of my favorites! She's from Oklahoma you know! I love her recipes because the ingredients are accessible to me.

I found out today that mashed potatoes and gravy are something I can manage. I also was able to have scrambled eggs for breakfast! Yay, me! LOL

What about some yummy smoothies? There are all kinds of different fruit you can add to it to change up the flavor.

Smoothies sound very good! It would also be something I could sneak some veggies in with the fruit to my and it would be healthy. We have a real picky eater issue with him. LOL

I just had surgey on the 17th.I had tumors also. I had my whole thyroid outuids. I too am on liquids dansoft foods. I can eat anything I want as long as it is soft. Noodles rice veggies. I dont think I will ever eat mashed potatoes again. I have made pots of soup with rice and veggies. cooked then so all us soft and it is more of a soft stew.
Good luck do hope your recovery goes well.

Do you have a Trader Joe's nearby? They have an AMAZING tomato soup (I will look up the name for you once I get home).

Also, how do you feel about Indian food? A lot of times, it has a very soft/smooth consistency? I don't know if spicyness is an issues, but if you like to cook and cook it at home, you could tome down the spices.

Spiciness is definitely an issue. I made a kind of bean soup tonight with some herbs nothing spicy and it was awesome! It does feel like it's getting better though so maybe soon I can eat things a bit more substantial.
