I adopted two piggies last month and have been introducing them to each other and to Patch, who I've had for five years. The first introduction went great, no fighting, and I was very optimistic. Now every time I put them down to play they rumblestrut and teeth chatter. Nobody seems willing to back down. They are always on neutral grouns and have toys to play with, etc. How long do I keep trying? Is there anything I can do to help? My boyfriend thinks if they are in a smaller area they'd be forced to work it out. Do you think that could be true?

Whatever you do, do NOT put them in a smaller area. It would just give the pigs less personal room, making the closer together, which means more fighting. Rumblestrutting is actually non-agressive or very light aggressive behavior, and a little bit of teeth chattering is not exactly very aggressive, more of just a dominance thing. Have you read CavySpirit.com's social life article? It is very informative. Also, have you tried introducing them one at a time, maybe introduce two girls at a time, and then, once you're sure they get along, place them all in one place again. A BIG place. And try not to separate them until you are SURE they are going to attack, like lunging or intense teeth chattering.

double-posted on GL. Pretty much addressed there.
