I have 2 girls and I just adporded 2 more new girls, they are about the same age. And have them in different cages for about a week, and I just made them a huge cage this weekend, it's about 2x6+2x2 in an L shape. I have cleaned everything but they are still not getting along. What can I do?

Looks like it's always 2 girl fighting, seems always one new girl being mean to the other girl, other 2 would try to stay out of it. Should I time out the other 2?

Is there bloodshed? If there is, I would separate. If there isn't, from what I've read, you need to leave them together so they can sort out the hierarchy. I know it's hard to watch, but it needs to be done. Be patient :)

If there is continued fighting, try a buddy bath.

mm.. so far I didn't see any blood, but some hair loss

What is a "buddy bath"?

Don't know what to tell you. I got CC by himself because the only other male cavey they had was only 4 months old. I was afraid of that CC would try to dominate the poor little fellow. At a future date I might get CC a play mate, but right now. I'm focused on him. The two females might be having a territorial disbute over the cage.

It's probably just the hierarchy thing... it's a natural instinct for piggies to do this. Just be patient, they will eventually all probably love each other! And you did the right thing by having more than one or two, since pigs are herd animals they love having others around. RyanR, you may want to consider adopting a pal for CC sometime, I'm sure he'd love one. I have two males and they get along just fine.

Try making the cage more of a square shape. I found that with a "narrow" (nothing is really that narrow in the world of c&c cages, heh) try makin it a 3X5. I fount theat my boys would get nippy with eachother when they passed each other when it was only two grids wide. Now my cage is a 4X5 and if one pig needs to get to the other side but another pig is blocking that way they can just go a different way.

mm... yesterday, I've remove all their old hidy house, and replace them with 6 new cardbord hidy house, they seem to get along a little bit better. But still they would get niggy with eachother for no reason. Too bad that I can't expand the cage in a square way, all I have is a L shape table that I can put the cage one. =( But I think they are starting to settle down, just don't know why they are so territorial. =(
