I don't think I should clip them, as they're still pretty short. Is it possible to file them?

It's worth it to nip off just the tippy tip.

They maybe sharp but unless they are piercing your skin I would leave them be. I feel my girls claws when I pick them up but they are never sharp enough to hurt me seriously. No blood. It's up to you but if you do dull them use a regular Cardboard nail file.
