The brand names is Living World. The food name is called Classic. But it contains seeds... but it's specialized for guinea pigs. Let me tell you the natural ingredients, wheat, milo, oat groats, cracked corn, whole corn, extruded kibble, sunflower seed, flacked corn, green split peas, raisins, dehydated banana, dehydrated flaked carrot, dehydated flaked potato, dehydrated leek, orange oil. the petshop person said you need a small amount of seed in the diet. That petshop looks quite professional except that they too put all guinea pigs (including female and male) together at one cage. The petshop is called Pet Safari, main branch is in Singapore.

Doesn't sound good to me. (Wondering about the corn?)

A lot of specialized food for guinea pigs is actually useless. It's best to always check the ingredients first.

This link will tell you what to look out for: www.guinealynx.info/nutrition.html#pellets

Yeah, I think you should just get plain pellets

Corn isnt good for piggies, why would you believe a petstore anyway? ;)
The choice food for pigs is at www.oxbow.com cavy cuisine for older than 8months and cavy performance for younger ones

The seeds aren't good for him/her either. Seeds and nuts are high in oils and fats.

Are they timothy based pellets? The seeds are a choking hazards. I wouldnt use them if I were you.

You can almost never trust what pet store says. At least that's what I think. Corn and seeds are a no-no, they can cause problems and make the guinea pig choke. I would just go with a good brand of plain pellets.

Ok... now you guys are making me scared. But my smart Joojoo only eats those round pellets and cylinderical shaped ones... he doesn't like the corn and seeds. Man, I wasted my money on the food. I'll try to get the right ones for him. What if Malaysia doesn't have to right pellet for him? can I just feed vege and fruit?

it takes alot of research and work to get all the nutriendts and stuff they need with just veggies and fruit but it is doeable I just wouldnt reccomend it

Umm.. I don't think it's a guinea pig website.

Hehe, it's at (broken link removed) That was pretty funny.

well at least i was close, right? *looks embarased*

Yup, yup, yup! lol.

Won't the shipping charge be too much though?

Yes, I think so too, I'm going back to the shop next week as they'll be having more guinea pigs... I was thinking of getting a male to accompany Joojoo.. I'll see what kind of pellets I can find...thanks

Any type of plain pellets formulated for guinea pigs and have Vitamin C in them and NO seeds, nuts or other junk mixed in will be fine.

Make sure its timothy based when he is older.

Do you have the entire ingredient list? What this is is something you simply don't need. The corn is a cheap filler with no nutritional value. Dehydrated veggies really don't have that much nutritional value either, and they, along with the seeds, etc., just are choking hazards.

The "pet store person" as you said, was wrong.

Also, I'd say that this store is one I wouldn't return to if they're giving out bad advice and setting up a breeding operation (keeping them all in one cage). If possible, please shop somewhere else. Thanks.

Oh, and I totally agree--get the Oxbow. :)

Yes I do have the entire list... I only listed the organic ingredients, the rest are chemical substance... I'll go shop for pellets which doesn't contain any seeds... I have a friend, kennethlhm... I think he should know which brand is good for piggy.

Would you like me to list down the chemical substance too?

You might want to. Some are poisonus I think.
