Hello! I have a 1 year old female Texel, and since I've had her, she doesn't like her back being touched. She is perfectly happy to be picked up, have her head/chin tickled and stroked, but if you try and touch her back, she kicks and squeaks! Does anyone know what could be causing this? It makes it very hard to groom her, although I do tend to trim her hair once a month, and give her a bath every 2, and haven't found any evidence of knots or tangles.

Thank you!

I'd treat her for mites -- see www.guinealynx.info/parasites.html and follow the links for mites. You can order the Ivermectin and syringes from (broken link removed).

Gorgeous Guineas also makes some very good products that help keep texel hair under control -- (broken link removed).

Thank you for your advice! I have purchased some Ivermectin and hopefully this will resolve the problem.
