I have a 2 level C&C cage. My piggies have their own spaces, some like it upstairs and some down stairs. Symphony usually stays up stairs (I have food, water and a litter box on both levels) but occasionally she will venture down the ramp and have a wander but when she does she gets nipped by the other two Sows. Is this normal? I mean for them to be territorial?

Yes. There will always be a 'boss' pig in a herd, and it appears that Symphony just isn't the boss. Beautiful name for your piggy, by the way :)

Okay, but when is enough enough? My newest is the dominant one and she's constantly rumbling or chattering at my first pig, who I must say I favor. She is constantly squealing to get away from the dominant one. Do you think they aren't good cage mates?

You should only seperate them if there is bloodshed or one is not letting the other eat or drink.

Thanks, slap-maxwell. I keep getting that same response, and although I admit I am pretty stubborn ;) I have a very hard time letting Baby pick on my little Sugar like that. She just doesn't seem happy! I'll try cleaning the cage and wiping it down well with vinegar, then if that doesn't work I'll do the buddy bath.
