Conditions Tear drop poop?

Just wandering if anyone has had experience with tear drop shaped poop? Shortly after one of our foster pigs delivered, she developed softer, tear drop shaped poop.

I read that it may be a symptom of dehydration, so increased water with veggies. I feel like it goes away, then comes back. I thought maybe it was related to nursing her pups, but they have been separated for more the 48 hours now and it is still there. The poop is not as soft as it was originally.

She has no other symptoms. She is active, eats, drinks and seems otherwise fine. Any ideas?

How is your guinea pig?

The tear drop shape doesn't necessarily mean dehydration. That would be the case if the poops were very hard, dry, and small.

Usually tear drop poops are very wet. It seems to mean that there is some kind of digestive upset. Perhaps try some probiotics for a bit to see if they go back to normal shape.

Thank you so much for your response. I do agree they are moist. The first sow is back to normal poops, but now the new nursing sow has the same type of poop. I will definitely restart probiotics. I did this for a while before with the first sow and it went away, but she also stopped nursing, and it was difficult to tell what caused the change.

Do you have a probiotic that you have used?

I usually just open an acidophilus capsule and sprinkle itmon a wet lettuce leaf.
