Tang Vitamin C

I went to Meijers, and one of the employees suggested that I feed powdered Tang to baby piggies (you know, the juice mix) to get them vitamin C.

This sounds like a BAD idea to me, but I'm no expert. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

Re: Tang Vitamin C

Don't not use Tang - the sugar content is way too high! As long as you are feeding 1 cup of leafy greens a day your pig is getting it's needed vitamin c. Also make sure the pellets you feed are stable in vitamin C.

If for some reason you feel you need to supplement vitamin c you can buy vitamin C pills at health food stores like GMC or Whole Foods. Guinea pigs require 50mg a day but like I said if you feed good veggies and pellets you don't need to worry about supplementing.

long time ago

A long time ago like 10 years ago my teacher had a cavy. She always had tang in the cavys waterbotttle. that was before we knew better i guess. but i dont think its a good idea either.
