Hiding Taming a guinea pig

I have had my guinea pigs for about a month now. When I go up to the cage, they will usually come right up to the side to say hello and see if I have food. Also, they will eat right from my hand and will let me pet them. They are pretty tame once they come out of the cage. But when I try to pick them up to take them out, they run away and hide in their hut. How do I make them more tame so they don't run away when I try to take them out. Will it just take time?

My pigs were like that too at first and gradually have gotten somewhat better, but they are still not crazy about being dragged out of their cage. Once they are out, they are fine but they don't seem to like the process very much. It may improve with time to an extent but they might just be like that forever.
