Does anyone use their hay, is it good?
(broken link removed) Are any of these treats ok for guinea pigs ?

Should I get the natural harvest timothy hay (broken link removed) or the regualr timothy hay (broken link removed)?
TIA

The only thing I see on the treats page that I would give piggies is the "real apple sticks". I can't tell what mg dosage the vitamins are and I don't know if they have other vitamins mixed in there with it so I wouldn't trust it.

If you can afford it, I would go with the 2nd choice on the hay, it would be cheaper and if the shipping is reasonable to where you are, you could opt for the 30lb box instead of the 14lb box. Hay will stay good for very long periods of time if it is stored properly.

thats what I was plannin on but it didn't say it was all second cut, I just wanted to make sure. I was thinking about getting the apple sticks too.

I order hay and pellets all the time from seetmeadow frm. It smells awesome and Cujo loves it! I order the sweetmeadow hay. I also order orchard grass as a change once in a while. Their pellets are great, also.

I think Im going to stick with oxbow pellets because there is a feed store like 15 minutes away that sell them and my pig love them. The Oxbow hay I get always seem kinda stiff and not as green as it should be.

Oh wow, really? When I buy oxbow hay occasionally for my pigs(Orchard Grass) it is so soft and green, and so fresh smelling! I love it! Unfortunately, the shipping is CRAZY at Oxbow, so I only buy 15 oz. from my feed store every now and then. It's cheaper there anyways :p

I agree, the only thing that looks good on the Treats page are the Apple Sticks.

The better deal is the Sweet Meadow Hay on the second page, but either Timmy or Orchard Grass is fine (on either page).

Yes the oxbow orchard grass isgood but the timmy isn't as good. I can get oxbow at a feed store so no shipping and handling. I just want to try something else.

How big of bags of Oxbow can you get at your feed stores?

40 ounces and 5 pounds of pellets. But he will custom order stuff if you ask him for it.

I bought a bag of their pellets because I heard they were good. However, when I got home and looked at the ingredients I found that there's Fish meal and Animal fat in them. I'm sticking to Oxbow even if I have to walk 2 miles to get it.

Ew, that's disgusting sofiemuffins!
I'm guessing you are talking about sweet meadow farm's pellets? :)

Oh, yeah sorry. I was talking about the Sweet Meadow Farm pellets. They also have dairy in them.

Yeah, they aren't the best. Here are the ingredients:

Alfalfa Meal, Timothy Meal, Pulverized Oats, Soybean Meal, Ground Wheat, Fish Meal, Salt, Dicalcium Phosphate, Monocalcium Phosphate, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Niacin Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Choline Cloride, Asorbic Acid (not stabilized), Biotin, Menadione Sodium Bisulfate, Copper Sulfate, Ferrous Sulfate, Cobalt Sulfate, Zinc Sulfate, Polysaccharide Complexes of Zinc and Iron, Dehydrated sea kelp, Ethylenediamine Dihydriodide, Methionine Supplement, Folic Acid, Sodium Selenite, Sodium Bentonite,(not to exceed 1.5%), vegetable oil, Dried Milk Protein, Corn Syrup Solids, Lecithin, Propionic Acid, Ammonium Hydroxide, Acetic Acid, Benzoic Acid, Sorbic Acid, Tartaric Acid.

Just not a good pellet, all in all.
